2001 – BRASILNOAR FESTIVAL – 1º BRAZILIAN NEW ART INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
On April 28th, 2001 the first edition of BrasilNoar Festival was held with a surprising result not only by the large participation of artists (more than thirty) and fusion of arts, but also because of the large number of public (more than one thousand people) at the Mercat de les Flors, Municipal Theatre of Barcelona.

MUSIC
–Wagner Pa & Brazuca Matraca (Myspace) – presented its 1st album, which combines Bossa Nova with today’s rhythms.
Folia – Wagner Pa & Brazuca Matraca (Video clip)
–Canôa Quebrada – showed its influence of African music merged with Brazilian rhythms such as Reggae and Funk.
–Genivan (Myspace) – singer of Bahia, presented an intimate show of Bossa Nova and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira – Popular Brazilian Music).

–Sonidos do Brasil – a group of djs presents little known Brazilian rhythms outside of the Brazilian lands.

–Richard Jensen (Web) – with an exhibition showing Brazilian beauty and innocence.
–Ricardo Lamin (Web) – with the project “Casa–rua” (House-street), he showed people living and sleeping on the streets of Barcelona.
–André Mendes – a slide projection, with “photos made from photographic projections on the human body.”

–Adriana Ferla (Web) – presents an installation using different techniques.

–Fabio Hernández – with a multimedia animation projected on a screen projection.
–Tomás Presas (Tom 14) (Web) – with a multimedia animation projected on a screen projection.
–Luciana Crepaldi – project “Scan–Art”, a technique where he “scans” the human body.

–Pedro Ivo Marine Tahan – presented his 1st book of poetry called “Peladas de cascas”.

–Sandro Lustosa (Myspace) – percussionist of prestige in Brazil and Europe (Blitz, Emilio Santiago, Macaco, Manu Chao …) held a workshop of percussion.
